A large collection of letters, autographs, photographs and papers signed by various musicians, theatre actors and managers, writers and journalists, including: John Pyke Hullah; Pedro de Freitas Branco (typed letter to Dr Kalmus, confirmig that "the Piano Concerto by Khatchaturian is on my programme of October 23rd, the soloisrt being my wife, Marie Antoinette Leveque", closed tears, 29 September 1947); Sir Hamilton Harty; Osbert Sitwell (rare copy of his 1919 satire ‘The Winstonberg Line’); Martin Farquhar Tupper; William Moy Thomas; Lord Alfred Harmsworth; Gilbert Murray (typed letter saying "I am sorry to say I have not read anything of Duns Scotus, and very little of mediaeval philosphy. It is hard to cover all the ground", 24 August 1955); Henry Nevinson (two typed letters, one asking the recipient to support his son's membership request at the Atheneum, 10 September 1941; the other (recipient's name has been clipped) saying "You can certainly include 'Pythagoras in Argos' in your anthology...The verses do not imply any belief in Reincarnation. I wish I could say they did, for I should so like to go on watching the world forever", 5 May 1927); Robert William Frederick Harrison (two typed notes, one tahnking Mr H.B. Wheeler for his book and adding "Having personal associations with Ireland the subject appealed to me particularly", 19 July 1910); Henry Tedder (letter to John Jeremiah thanking him for sending a copy of his latest quaint fly sheet, 13 November 1877); Peter de Polnay (letter to Mr Lawlor, saying "I am delighted with what you say about Into An Old Room. Believe me writers are as susceptible to kind words as old women to cosmetics. As a matter of fact the book had been very well reviewed both here and in America", 6 November 1953); Beverley Nichols (typed note saying he will be delighted to sign a copy of his book, 3 April 1934); Barry Pain (brief thank you note, 4 May 1920); Martin Tupper (letter to Rev. F. Dickisnon, mentioning his father's illness, 5 April 1865); Alice Delysia (typed letter replying to an autograph request, 20 March 1919); Sir Charls Hawtrey (two letters, one saying "At present I have not finally settled as to what the next production will be at the Avenue after 'Private Secretary' but I will bear you in mind for characters if there is anything likely to suit you", the other setting up a meeting with the recipient); Seymour Hicks (letter saying he about to leave for France, n.d.); Henry Ainley; Herbert Beerbohm Tree (typed letter to Mr Lacy, mentioning the play 'Everywoman' and saying "I can understand its being an enormous attraction on the other side. Frankly...I do not think sufficiently highly of it as a work of art to attempt it here", 17 April 1911); Martin Harvey (clipped signature and two letters to Mr Christy, one expressing "on behalf of my people and myself, our gratitude to you for raking together and putting in such interesting form the information about our doing at Wyvenhoe, which, of course, we all look back to with some pride", 4 September 1905) and others; vintage photographs signed by Adrienne Augarde, Sybil Arundale, Oscar Asche, Lionel Brough, Edna Best, Marie Blanche, Winifred Barnes, Lily Brayton, Kate Cutler, Madge Chricton, Edward Compton, H. Cooper Cliffe, Pauline Chase, Camille Clifford, Dennis Neilson-Terry, Edward Terry, Basil Gill, George Grossmith, George Graves, Madge Lessing Lillie Lassah, Nipper Lupino, Cecilia Loftus and other Edwardian stage celebrities; a group of letters to Alfred Lockwood from various correspondents, including: Lionel Brough (discussing investments in 'Central Pacific'), C.
