A late 19th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver three-piece tea service, Cutch circa 1880
Raj period, comprising a teapot, a covered milk jug, and a covered twin handled sugar bowl. Each of globular form upon four pad feet with chased acanthus junctions, the teapot with a curved spout, the terminal modelled as a stylised birds head, opposite a D section panelled handle fitted with turned ivory insulators, leading to a domed hinged lid surmounted by fluted compressed knop finial. The hinged lids of the sugar and milk with the same finial. The bodies with finely chased decoration of foliate scrolls and rosettes, repeated to the lids and spouts. The handles with chased rosettes, and scrolls. (3)
