A group of four salted paper prints by Roger Fenton (1819-1869), James Robertson (1813 - 1888), and Robertson/attr. to Felice Beato (1832 - 1909) depicting scenes from the Crimean War, 1855. Comprising: Fenton's group photograph of Lieutenant Colonel Shadforth and Officers of the 57th, image/sheet size 15.5 x 20cm; Robertson's view of the ruins of a Russian barrack battery [one of the six main redoubts which defended Sebastopol], mounted to card, image size 25 x 30cm, card size 28.2 x 33.5, signed by Roberson in manuscript ink lower left image; Robertson's view of Sebastopol taken from the Malakoff, mounted to card, image size 17.2 x 30.3cm, cards size 21.2 x 33cm; and Robertson & Beato's (attr, see Getty ref.84.XA.886.5.1) view of The End of Balaklava Harbor, mounted to card, image size 24.5 x 29.3cm, card size 27 x 36.5cm.
