A George IV sterling silver teapot, London 1826 by John James Keith (reg. 5th May 1824)

Of inverted baluster form, with a half panelled lower body, raised upon a domed and panelled foot with an embossed decorative band. The upper section with embossed decoration of trailing flowers against a matted ground. The stepped domed hinged lid with embossed decoration of flowers, surmounted by a detachable finial of a chinoiserie figure upon a rocaille calyx. The C scroll handle with acanthus thumbpiece, ivory insulators. The spout with embossed decoration of flower heads. Scratch weight underneath 22"8. Fully marked underneath and part- marked to lid, lion passant only to finial and retaining nut.
