A fine Chinese white jade plaque and belt hook, Qing dynasty, 18th century
清十八世紀 白玉雕龍紋帶鉤與玉牌

Now mounted to form a silver hand mirror, the plaque carved in relief to depict a small bat perched atop a cluster of large ripe peaches sprouting from leafy stems, the belt hook skilfully carved and pierced with a slender chilong dragon crawling up the curved shaft, terminating in a ferocious dragon head, the jade of an even and very pale celadon tone
