An early George III sterling silver candlestick, London 1762 by Ebenezer Coker (reg. 27th March 1738)
The base of square from with in-curved sides and double shell capped corners, the column with gadrooned circular knop and shell capped square form knop, the capital with gadrooned bands. A removable sconce of similar form. The based engraved with a contemporary crest of out of a ducal coronet a heraldic tiger's head, the whole debruised by a bendlet wavy sinister. The sconce with later initials in cursive script. Fully marked to base, lion passant and maker’s mark to capital, also engraved No 1 underneath.

Weight – 728 grams / 23.41 ozt
The crest is for Lennnard, later Lennard Baronets of Wickham Court (est. 1880)
