Madras circa 1920
An early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver mounted coconut cup

Raj period. Rounded form upon a spreading circular foot, with the edge formed as one Chuckram, Travancore coins. A domed pull off lid the finial formed from a coin to a silver cylindrical interior. The side of coconut with applied bosses made from niello decorated Travancore fanam coins. The body with carved decoration of animal, lion, antelope, lioness, elephant, amidst foliate scrolls.

Height – 16.6 cm / 6.5 inches
