A George I sterling silver side-handled coffee pot, London 1725 by Thomas Mason (reg. 1st July 1720)
Of cylindrical ‘lighthouse’ form, with a domed lid surmounted by a bell finial. A later ebonised scroll handle at right angle to panelled curved spout. Later engraved with a crest of a horse’s head issuing from a Ducal coronet. Initialled underneath ML in Roman script and ES also in Roman script. Fully marked at right angle to handle.
