The pear-shaped Satsuma vase painted with a chickadee flying above blooming shrubs against a gradient yellow ground, the design after Kono Bairei, the first cloisonné vase decorated with panels containing blossoms and butterflies and floral brocade bands reserved on a black ground, the second with an eagle perched on a rock jutting from turbulent sea waves beneath a pine tree,
