Calligraphic album with Persian manuscript on paper, 6ff. plus one flyleaf, each folio with 6ll. of bold black ink nasta’liq script, the text an extract from The Advice of Luqman the Wise to His Son by Shaykh Rabi' bin Hadi al-Madkhali, the opening folio with gold, cobalt blue and polychrome illumination, the text clustered in cloudbands on a burnished gold ground with floral interlinear decoration, in teal blue and cream concentric borders with gilt vegetal motifs, within gold and black rules, in dark brown tooled morocco binding, the red calf binding interior finely tooled in gold and polychromes with a central cusped arabesque cartouche symmetrically linked to two pairs of similar motifs on each end, the text panel 17.3cm x 10cm, the folio 24.6cm x 15.5cm.
