A MOULDED POTTERY TILE WITH A GEOMETRIC STAR PATTERN
Possibly Multan, Sindh, Punjab, late 19th century
Of square shape, the reddish earthenware body painted in cobalt blue against a recessed thick white ground, the decoration consisting of a moulded geometric lattice spreading from a central ten-pointed star (only half present) and developing into a multitude of interlaced five-pointed stars and polygonal shapes, 33cm x 33cm.
