A large Victorian sterling silver eight bottle cruet, Birmingham 1888 by Elkington and Co
Of shaped oval form with renaissance revival style strapwork edge raised upon four interlaced bracket block feet. The detachable central carrying handle with gothic tracery type decoration and strap work with beading leading to a galleried section of eight circular rings and four supports with roundels. Fitted with clear glass wheel cut bottle comprising: a pair of oil and vinegar bottles, four sauce bottles, a silver mounted pepper or herb caster, a silver mounted cayenne pepper bottle with gilt scoop and a mustard pot fitted with a Rich Bead (Prince of Wales) pattern mustard spoon. Fully marked underneath and stamped Elkington 6476, fully marked to mustard pot mount, mustard spoon, pepper lid and cayenne pepper scoop, the lid of mustard pot part-marked, the four retaining nuts with duty mark only.
