A Victorian sterling silver bachelor three-piece tea service, London 1869/70 by William Hunter
Comprising a teapot (1869), a milk jug and a twin handled sugar bowl (1870), each of shaped oval form with beaded rims. Decorated with bright cut engraved bands, each side with an engraved shield shape cartouche within crossed floral branches, one side engraved with a crest of a mortar-piece casting out a bomb with flames, chained, encircled in the motto Barn Ar Agin. The teapot with an ebonised wooden scroll handle, the hinged domed lid surmounted by an ebonised finial. Each fully marked and part-marked. (3)
