A Victorian sterling silver card case, Birmingham 1848 by Yapp and Woodward

Of shaped rectangular form with a hinged lid. The centre with asymmetrical C scroll cartouche engraved with an asymmetrical foliate scroll cartouche with an engraved figural scene a gentleman with a dog, attended to by a lady and a woman with an ale jug. Otherwise with engraved flower heads reserved with engine turned decoration, the reverse of lid with a cartouche engraved ‘From E.G, J.E.D’. Fully marked underneath, the lid unmarked.

Length – 9.7 cm / 3.75 inches

Weight – 70 grams / 2.25 ozt
