A PAIR OF CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE 'WU SHUANG PU' VASES.

Qing Dynasty, 19th Century.

Each of square form with tapering sides and waisted necks rising to flared rims, painted with figures from the Wu Shuang Pu (‘Table of Peerless Heroes’), with Yan Guang, Liu Chen, Wu Ze Tian and Liang Gong, each accompanied by an inscription and red seals, the necks decorated with stylised panels depicting seals, roundels bordered with blossoms and wine bottles, all enclosing inscriptions and seals, the shoulders with iron red beast mask ring handles picked out in gilt, 38.5cm H. (2)
