Iran or Ottoman Provinces, dated 7 Safar 1178 AH (5 August 1764), signed Isma’il bin al-Mufti

Arabic manuscript on water-marked laid paper, 177ff., plus 3 fly-leaves, each folio with 19ll. of black ink naskh script, significant words in red, within red rules, marginal notes in radiating diagonal format on the borders, no further illumination devices, the colophon inscribed 7 Safar and the year 1178 AH (1764) in the margin, signed Isma’il bin al-Mufti at the school of Sheikh Yusuf, with the library stamps of Muhammad Wahbi 1209 AH, and Mohammad Hafiz Khodabandeh 1277 AH, the penultimate folio including the phrase Risalat al Seyf al Sarim, in marbled paper binding covered with buff paper, the text panel 15cm x 6.5cm, the folio 22.5cm x 14.5cm.
