A CHINESE PORCELAIN 'FAMILLE ROSE' BOWL AND A SMALL DISH
Possibly Guangdong, China, made for the Persian export market, late 19th century

Comprising a deep, rounded bowl, resting on a thin, circular foot, painted in polychromes and gold against a white ground, the interior with a central rose bouquet, the exterior with more roses and a diamond-shaped frieze with rosettes on white and gold stars on cobalt blue in the negative spaces, 16.8cm diam. and 7cm high; and a small circular dish, painted in blue, yellow, green, and gold on white ground, decorated with bouquets of roses in the centre, and flower heads and bats around the rim, the exterior plain, 20.1cm diam. and 2.3cm high.
