A mid-19th century Dutch 934 standard silver mounted kingwood and tulipwood tray, Amsterdam 1856 by Pieter Pieterse (active 1846-70) retailed by Bonebakker and Zoon
Of shaped rectangular form, the twin handles of acanthus scrolls with foliage, engraved rose heads and foliate scrolls. The tray with a central lozenge of kingwood and tulipwood marquetry of arabesques and foliate sections, brass stringing, reserved with quartered kingwood veneers. Felt underside. Marked to each handle maker’s mark PP and anchor, retailer’s mark AB Z♎︎, and trade stamp BONEBAKKER & ZOON.
