Of circular form upon four bracket feet, the hinged domed lid with a shaped thumbpiece with reeded rims, each side with a reeded swing handle with a shaped scroll junction. Engraved underneath with a presentation inscription reading “Bequeathed by Dorothy Viscountess St Cyres to John Macbead in gratitude and friendship 20th September 1936”. Stamped underneath ‘Garrard & Co Ltd, Abermarle St London.W. Fully marked to the base bezel and part-marked to the lid.

Weight – 626 grams / 20.13 ozt

Dorothy Morrison (1872-1936), the wife of Stafford Harry Northcote, Viscount Saint Cyres KStJ (1869 – 1926) the only son of Walter Stafford Northcote, 2nd Earl of Iddesleigh (1845 – 1927).
