A CARVED WOOD COFFEE GROUNDER WITH PSEUDO-CALLIGRAPHIC BAND
Possibly North Africa or Ottoman Turkey, late 19th - early 20th century
Of bulbous shape, resting on a splayed circular base, the hemispherical top with a cylindrical hole in the middle, the whole body carved with vegetal sprays, stylised floral festoons, fretwork and geometric decoration, the centre carved with a pseudo-Kufic calligraphic band, featuring a large bronze ring / handle to one side, 24cm high.
