Selection of letters and notes related to secretaries of US Presidents, all addressed to Miss Getrude Tuttle, including: autograph letter by William Osborn Stoddard, Secretary to Abraham Lincoln, thanking Miss Tuttle and her father for their birthday greetings, Madison, New Jersey, 25 September 1915; typed letter by Edward T. Clark, Secretary to Calvin Coolidge, thanking Miss Tuttle for sending a copy of her book "Bottle Hill and Madison", one page, The White House, 20 February 1929; typed letter from Lewis McHenry Howe, Secretary to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, thanking Miss Tuttle for her support, The White House, 8 March 1934; two typed letters by Wendell Willkie, lawyer and 1940 Republican nominee for President, both addressed to Miss Tuttle and thanking her for her message conveying "not only your good will, but also a heartening faith in the principles for which I stand", New York, both letters dated 19 November 1940; together with: a typed letter likely dictated by Woodrow Wilson and signed by John Randolph Bolling, thanking Miss Tuttle for sending a copy of her father's book, one page, 4to, Washington, 24 January 1924; printed invitation by President Roosevelt to a reception at the White House; all items mounted onto larger, browned album pages with some chipping to margins, original mailing envelopes affixed to the same page (7)
