Maltese circa 1760
A mid-18th century silver coffee pot

Pinto period. Of lobed and fluted baluster form all upon three hoofed feet with shaped rectangular junctions. The panelled short spout with bell drop base and central rib opposite a carved fruit wood scroll handle pined to fluted rosette sockets, the hinged domed and fluted lid all surmounted by a budding calyx finial, all raised by a scroll thumbpiece. Marked underneath with standard mark MA with cross and crown (875 standard), and a further smaller mark, probably the mint mark of Carlo Troisi.

Height - 21 cm / 8.25 inches

Weight - 614 grams / 19.74 ozt
