For the Ottoman Turkish market – Geneva circa 1860
A mid-19th century Swiss silver gilt and enamel confectionary covered bowl

Of lobed circular form all upon three rocaille bifurcated C scroll feet adjoined by twisted supports. The lobed domed pull off lid surmounted by a leafy form finial. Painted enamel decoration of panels of alternating flowers against translucent blue or white guilloche enamel edged with gold rosettes. Gilt interior. Apparently unmarked.
