An associated group of medals for Colonel Algernon Edward Luke Wear M.D. CBE CMG, comprising: 1) Boxed CMG 2) Boxed CBE 3) CBE brooch 4) Miniature medal set including CMG, 1914 Star ‘Mons Sar’, British War Medal, Victory Medal (with Mentioned in Despatches oak leaf), Delhi Durbar 1911 Medal, Territorial Decoration Medal (GvR) 5) Ribbon bar matching the above and a spare ribbon for a 1914 Star Medal Colonel Wear joined the Leeds RAMC Volunteers in 1902, while working as a civilian doctor. He served throughout WW1 as part of the RAMC Territorial Force, being promoted repeatedly until reaching the rank of Colonel in 1918. He was later awarded the CBE for his work as an engineer in the Far East. This collection has never been on the market previously.
