A Pair of Royal Crown Derby Pate-Sur-Pate Vases & Covers by Desire Leroy

Each of urn form with domed cover and bud finial, over a blade knop stem and spreading circular foot, painted with panels of birds and insects amongst fungi and foliage to cobalt blue ground, within richly gilded and turquoise jewelled borders of scrolls, foliage and beading, signed 'Leroy', stamped mark and date cipher to base - one clearly for 1899, the other circa 1899-1901 and also incised '1233 II'
