Our April Old Masters and 19th Century Art sale showcases a wonderful array of oil paintings, a collection of portrait miniatures and works on paper. Highlights include works by renowned artists of the period such as Jan Fyt (1611-1661), Constantijn Netscher (c. 1668-1723), Pieter Cornelisz. Van Soest (born c. 1600–1620, fl c. 1640–67), Alfred Munnings (1878-1959), Thomas Blinks (1860-1912), and Jasper Francis Cropsey (1823-1900). The sale also includes a recently discovered collection of watercolours by Lieutenant Colonel Alfred Crowdy Lovett (1862-1919) and his son Nigel Lovett (1900-198?) which have been preserved by the family for many years, and offer a rare and unique insight into the history of the Indian Army.
