The Fine Sale at Chiswick Auctions is a newly curated auction celebrating the very best in interiors, antiques, and fine art. Bringing together a carefully selected array of exceptional pieces, from elegant period furniture and decorative objets d'art to fine dinnerware and distinguished paintings. This sale offers an inspiring journey through craftsmanship, history, and style.
Among the many highlights is The Weigher of Gold, an evocative oil painting by a Follower of Karel van der Pluym (1625–1677), whose rare surviving works, only seventeen are known, speak to his ties with Rembrandt and the Leiden school. Other standout lots include a 1902 Steinway & Sons rosewood baby grand piano, a pair of WWII-era Luftwaffe Flak binoculars by Josef Schneider & Co., and a remarkable mid-18th-century Danish faience side table. For collectors of Old Masters and 19th Century art, a powerful depiction of Cain and Abel from the circle of Jan Gossaert and a dynamic Thomas Blinks On the scent captured an animated moment in time, highlighting the character of the dog as it eagerly follows a scent. Not to be missed is a Louis XVI commode by Fidelys Schey, once owned by Queen Mary, an exquisite piece with royal provenance.
