Militaria Sale huge success - and 'brown' furniture is selling again!

Dear Subscriber

Just a few words to keep you up to date with what is going on at Chiswick Auctions.
'Brown' furniture is picking up and for the first time in a long while, we sold almost every stick of furniture in the saleroom - and for very good prices too. Good items fresh to the market are back in demand with dealers and local Londoners fighting them out on Tuesday afternoon.
This last Tuesday 4th we had our second Militaria sale, which proved to be a great success.  A varied mixture of items including medals, uniforms, swords etc - 95% of all lots sold! One of the more interesting items was this Japanese WW1 Katana which sold for £320 + buyers premium.  The next Military sale is on 8th April and we already have a large number of firearms to be included in the sale.  Mark Longson our specialist is collecting now so if you have anything you would like to add, please email him  mark@chiswickauctions.co.uk

This week 11th February is the Valentines Sale with 150 privately entered lots of jewellery, silver and good presents for your loved ones!  It includes a fabulous single stone diamond ring, with an estimate of £1,000 - £1,500.  The sort of ring that you would have to pay nearly £10,000 for in a Bond Street jeweller.

Following on the week after - 18th February is Textiles and Fashion
This is a hugely varied sale with a significant amount of couture, handbags and anything fashion related. Included is this fabulous gents fur coat.

Finally - our next Fine Sale is 15th April.  This sale already has a number of good lots in the pipeline.  A highlight without doubt is going to be an important large Chinese cinnabar lacquer box. The 99 year old vendor's father aquired it in Beijing at the end of the 19th Century from a sale of objects from the Summer Palace. Entries for this sale are still invited - please email valuations@chiswickauctions.co.uk or email directly the relevant specialist.
