From Ribera to Reynolds

On Tuesday December 9th we will be holding our
most exciting Fine Art and Antiques sale of the year.
It will start at 12 noon and be followed by the General sale.


The catalogue includes Scottish Colourist finds by Margaret Morris, partner of JD Fergusson, a stunning piece from the studio of Jusepe De Ribera and two beautiful pen and ink portrait studies by Sir Joshua Reynolds.

Other paintings include a portrait from the Circle of Thomas Gainsborough and Gainsborough Dupont a work on copper by Guido Reni and a beautiful view of a fjord by Adelsteen Normann.

This week, our 20th Century and Contemporary Art and Design sale was record-breaking! 300 lots delivered a massive hammer price total of £74,000 - our best ever.

As anticipated the Paul Evans furniture sold well, pieces by Hagenauer Werkstatte and Ryan Callanan were well received and a beautiful Betty Swanwick watercolour achieved £3,200.

Coming up, our final sale of 2014 will be Vintage Wines and Spirits on December 16th - a perfect way to get us ready for the Christmas break. We have over 600 bottles of fine wine including Margaux and Pomerol, 250 bottles of vintage Port and 50 bottles of vintage Champagne. Come and join us for the party!
