Chiswick Auctions held our bi-monthly fine sale which once again was a great success achieving first-rate prices overall. It was encouraging to have a lot of Chinese entries, where the market is very buoyant for us.
Lot 1, A Kangxi blue and white porcelain bottle shaped vase, 22.5cms, estimated at £600-800 achieved £1100 hammer price.
Lot 12, A rectangle Chinese jade plaque, carved with a dragon, 6 x 4cms, estimated at £200-300 reached £1000 hammer price.
Lot 43, A Chinese Ching Dynasty Ducai dish bearing the mark Yongzheng, 17.5cms, estimated at £400-600 realised £850 hammer price.
Lot 90, A good cased pair of late 19th Century Continental claret jugs estimated at £ 800-1200 fetched a fine hammer price of £1550.
Lot 128, H. R. Hall, ‘A grey day Loch Katrine Highland Cattle drinking@, and ‘Early morning Luss Straights loch Lomond’, pair of oil paintings, signed 30x39cms, estimate £1000-1500 realised £1400 hammer price.
