10/09/2009 Chiswick Curates
Chiswick Auctions 8th September selected and fine art antique sale broke all records for the saleroom.
A collection of items from a former convent took a total of just over £40,000 - including £19,000 for a large ivory crucifix (photo below)
Other highlights included a Faberge enamelled brush £2,400, an original Russell Flint watercolour at £2,100 and £3,100 for a Chiparus bronze. Overall we were very happy indeed with the sale. Next fine sale now likely to be very beginning of next year in January - but don't forget the specialist Book sale on 17th November.
Weekly sales continue as ever, every Tuesday - many good things in the sale next week already. Catalogue listing online on Saturday as usual.
I look forward to seeing you in Chiswick in the near future.
