A PAIR OF LARGE ITALIAN MAIOLICA EWERS, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the scrolling handles moulded with a caryatid, above nautilus form lip, the vase form bodies applied to the shoulder with figure groups of Europa and the Bull, on bulbous form circular pedestal bases applied with dolphin, elaborately decorated with scenes from mythology of Neptune and Amphitrite being born by a chariot drawn by hippocampus in seas laced with mountainous islands (repairs to the handles, chips)(2)
