AN ANTIQUE QASHQAI RUG, SOUTH-WEST PERSIA

The light rust field with bold rosettes and serrated leaves around large blue lozenge medallion containming similar motifs enclosing bold palmette centrepiece. Linked blue spandrels similar. In soft brown border of stylised palmettes, hooked leaves and hooked panels between plain stripes, approx: 6ft.7in. x 4ft.7in.(201cm. x 140cm.) Very good example for this type with very nice design and good colour combination. This rug has slight wear to the top pile, down to knot collar in places, otherwise good pile. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this rug is in very good usable conditon. Very attractive and elegant piece.
