An early 19th century Indian colonial silver curry pan with egg coddler, Calcutta circa 1830 by Pittar and Co (active 1825-48)
Of cylindrical form with a moulded rim, a pull off stepped lid surmounted by a detachable horn dish finial. Fitted with a detachable side handle, with cut down horn terminal, also a loop handle with turned horn section and reeded sides. The interior with an unmarked egg cup frame, with detachable horn finial. Marked underneath with P & Co, pseudo lion passant, and capital A.
