A LARGE VICTORIAN INDIAN STYLE STERLING SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE
London, England, 1899, by Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater

Comprising a teapot (23.5cm), a coffee pot (24.3cm), a milk jug, and a twin handled sugar bowl, each of bellied circular form upon a moulded foot, the pots with curved spouts opposite C scroll handled with turned ivory insulators pinned to sockets, the hinged domed lids surmounted by detachable knop and ball finial, the bodied all over decorated with deep chased Kutch/Cutch style work of dense foliate scrolls, bird and flower heads below styled lozenge rosette borders and courses of pellets, each with a vacant circular cartouche to each side, the milk and sugar with gilt interiors, the pots with gilt interior lids, each fully marked to right of handle, part-marked to lids, finials, and wing nuts, 2268 grams / 72.92 ozt in total.
