A MID 19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT AND PATINATED BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK, in the Louis XVI style, the plinth base surmounted by a swagged ormolu urn and flanked by volute scrolls surmounted by figures of putti holding flowers and with floral garlands, on a break-front white marble plinth with gilt relief mounts, the white enamelled dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers, the twin train movement with outside countwheel and silk suspension, striking on a bell, stamped 'Japy Freres MEDAILLE D'OR', with pendulum,

Property from an English Private Collection. Purchased from 'The Clock Shop', Weybridge, Surrey, 29 March 2001.

The clock is winding, ticking and striking when the hands are turned but not fully tested or guaranteed.
