A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH COIN IN SLOT SINGING BIRDS IN CAGE AUTOMATON the domed cage with ring handle over and raised on a rectangular giltwood and gesso base decorated with floral motifs and fitted with a drawer which the coin drops in to, the cage with hinged door enclosing two birds with coloured plumage that sing and move when a coin is dropped into the slot, 52cm high  In working order, but not fully tested or guaranteed.
