AN ANTIQUE NORTH-WEST PERSIAN RUNNER

The soft brick-red field with flour light stepped medallions containing floral panels and rosettes flanked by similar motifs. In red border of rosettes and serrated leaf vine between light-blue angular floral meander and plain stripes, approx: 252cm. x 96cm. Well drawn design and very good colour combination. This runner has good pile, soft wool quality. Selvages original. One end with original kilim, slightly fraying in one corner. Other end with part kilim and fringes, slightly fraying. In general this piece is in good usable condition. Woven on wool foundation. Elegant and good frinishing rug.
