A 16TH CENTURY TURKISH OTTOMAN IZNIK TILE, CIRCA 1575-80 of square form, decorated in cobalt blue, turquoise and raised-red with black outline on a white ground, with a design of partial flowerheads issuing tendrils terminating in swirling saz leaves, the upper edge with a border of interlocking palmettes, with red border to lower edge, the tile 19cm high and 20cm wide, 25cm high and 25cm wide (including ebonised frame)

Auction Comparable: A tile of almost identical design and presumably from the same workshop was sold at Christie's, London, 26 April 2013, Lot 816, £23,750
