A DUTCH MARQUETRY INLAID BUREAU BOOKCASE OF BOMBE FORM, LATE 18TH TO EARLY 19TH CENTURY

A DUTCH MARQUETRY INLAID BUREAU BOOKCASE OF BOMBE FORM, LATE 18TH TO EARLY 19TH CENTURY, inlaid all over in wood and ivory with floral and foliate designs, the arched top centred by a carved rococo style crest, over a pair of glazed doors enclosing three shelves, above a curved fall front, opening to reveal a fitted interior centred by a tambour door, with an arrangement of drawers and pigeonholes above a shaped green velour writing surface and a well, over three long graduated drawers with pierced brass neoclassical backplates, on ornately carved hairy ball and claw feet centred by a shaped apron.
