In 1967, the first Rolex Submariner Date was introduced. The watch featured the case reference 1680, the new caliber 1575, and it was designed to be waterproof up to 200m, with "Cyclop" lens on top of the calendar, aiming to enlarge the date numbers at least two and a half times more, making it easier to read them.

Our watch features a rare Mark V dial, which was only produced and issued from 1969 until 1975 (6 years circulation), until the time that Rolex decided to have it replaced with a white version.
