AN ENAMEL BROOCH WITH TIGER AND GAZELLE
Jaipur, Rajasthan, North-Western India, 19th century
Designed in the shape of a tiger hunting a gazelle, the front kundan-set with polki diamonds for eyes and foliate decoration, upon band of pink Banares enamel, the reverse painted in the typical Jaipuri enamel palette (red, green and white) with some deep cobalt blue elements, both the front and back decorated with floral stems and vegetal motifs, 8cm x 5cm.
