A LURISTAN MASTER OF THE ANIMALS IDOL Circa 9th - 7th Century B.C. With a hollow base for insertion of the shaft, surmounted by a cylindrical column terminating in the decorative finial, depicting a central human figure grasping the necks of beaked mythological creatures, 31.6cm high. Provenance: With a London dealer, acquired prior to 1983.
