An early 19th century Indian colonial silver curry pan with egg coddler, Calcutta circa 1830 by Twentyman and Co (active 1818-20, then 1824-53)
Of cylindrical form with a gadrooned rim, the cavetto edge pull-off lid surmounted by a detachable turned horn compressed knop finial. Fitted with a pair of detachable loop ring handle with turned horn centres, also a detachable turned horn baluster side handle, each with sliding rectangular junctions. The interior fitted with a lift-out six division egg coddler, circular form with a disc base with drill pierced holes, raised by a central cylindrical section with a turned horn insulator. The lid and side engraved with a contemporaneous crest of a pelican in her piety. Marked underneath only with T&Co, lion passant and a crossed square tally mark.
