Finely modelled in lalitasana with long flowing robes that gently fall around her feet, open at the chest to reveal a jewelled necklace, her face carved with a serene expression and hair neatly arranged in braids and adorned with a cloud hairpin, her left arm supported on a curved armrest with single monster mask and clawed-leg support, a handscroll in her hand, the back impressed with a four-character boji yuren mark within a square, together with a box,

Note: The mark boji yuren reads ''virtue extends to all, even fishermen', which has been attributed as a mark used by the potter Su Xuejin (1869-1919), active during the late Qing and early Republic periods. Several more figures by this artist, each bearing the boji yuren seal mark, have been illustrated by John Ayers in 'Blanc de Chine, Divine Images in Porcelain', nos. 68-71, pp.117-120.

A similar figure, modelled with a tiara rather than a hood, with boji yuren mark, was sold at Christie's New York, 19th March 2009, lot 739.
