Iran, late 19th - early 20th century
Of typical cylindrical shape, with a wide everted circular rim, on a later-added plain circular base, the exterior decorated with pierced and engraved silver figural decoration including three riders on horseback in a hunting parade, two of them trying to spear and hit a running onagre, the third following a gazelle, on a pierced background made of leafy spiralling vegetal tendrils, against a layer of red foil, the whole composition framed within two single rosette bands, 8cm diam. and 6.2cm high.
