***Provenance: These books and ‘place cards were inscribed or signed when JK Rowling visited North Forelodge School in Hook. This visit was by way of compensation as the school had asked if they could put on a play inspired by Rowling’s Harry Potter novels. Permission was initially agreed upon but had to be retracted at a late stage ‘because of the precedent it would set to other schools and organizations keen to stage her works.’ Rowling made a statement saying that she ‘sincerely regrets any disappointment to the school and those taking part in the production.'
