AN EXTREMELY FINE PART SILK ISFAHAN RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA, approx; 175cm. x 114cm. Very nicely drawn overall design and well balanced colours. Bold appearance. This rug has full pile, very soft and lustrous kurk wool quality with part silk on field and border motifs. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 10 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. Selvages original. Ends with original kilim and fringes. In general this rug is in very good condition. Very good example from Isfahan weaving. Attractive and great furnishing piece.
