A hairwork bracelet with an enamel clasp, circa 1835 The elaborately plaited hairwork bracelet, terminating in a rectangular black enamel clasp with chased decoration, inscribed 'In Memory Of' in the border around the initials CRF, the reverse engraved, 'Caroline Reid Feilden, born 24 Nov. 1814, died 13 July 1835, Aged 20' with an oval glazed compartment, length 15.0cm Caroline Reid Feilden was the daughter of the 1st Baronet Feilden, Sir William Feilden, and Mary Haughton Jackson. Sir William was an MP for Blackburn, Lancashire from 1832-47 and High Sheriff of Cheshire in 1833. Caroline was the ninth of their twelve children and lived in Feincowles, Lancashire.  From a private English collection.
