A Victorian sterling silver mounted tortoiseshell games casket, London 1893 by Atkin Brothers
Of rectangular form with rounded corners, the exterior with mounts formed as the four suits; hearts diamonds, clubs and spades, doubled on the base corners. The interior with a pair of silver gilt mounted whist markers, one in tortoiseshell the other in ivory, held by silver gilt opposable arms. The base with decks of card lifted by ribbon with silver gilt mounted terminals. Fully marked to suits, whist marks, hinges, and ribbon terminals, part-marked to push button release and opposable arms, the rest for whist marks apparently unmarked.
